Stay Golden Sri Lanka - our story

Meet Angie and Rihan, the dynamic duo behind the magic of Stay Golden. Their journey began in 2016, when fate brought them together at the very place that would become their shared passion project. Rihan's story traces back to 2014, when he took over his family's guesthouse, Golden Beach, following his father's passing. Originally offering simple accommodation to NGO members after the tsunami, the guesthouse evolved into a haven for travelers seeking solace by the sea. In 2015, Rihan rebranded it as Stay Golden, setting the stage for a new chapter of growth and transformation.

Cape Weligama is an oceanfront resort spanning across 12 acres of tropical garden. With five of the World’s seven species of sea turtles nesting along this coastline and a migration channel for blue and sperm whales a mere mile offshore, our resort is a cetacean enthusiast’s paradise. A historic fishing village, much of the local community is heavily dependent on fisheries and marine-based tourism activities for their livelihood.
